Elyssa had her last several games with the final one being last Tuesday. It is sad that her season is so short here. Her team only lost one game. Elyssa really became an awesome 2nd baseman. She was throwing and fielding very well. The clincher was when she was fielding a ball and it bounced up and hit her in the face. She stayed with and still got the out at first to end the inning. I told her that she was now officially a ballplayer. When she went in the dugout her coach told her it was okay to cry, to which she responded "I don't like to cry". What a toughy!
Next year I will definitely have to learn to keep score. Elyssa is a really solid hitter. I can't tell you how many times she had to hit with RISP and 2 outs and everytime she came through. Also, her RBI's were great. You could always count on her to get the runs in. Its funny because she thinks she's big, but on the field she is little compared to so many other girls. The other pitchers always underestimate her. She is my package of dynamite.
We're going to try fall ball this year and Elyssa is already wanting to practice for next season. She wants to be intimidating next year!
