Wrestling season is over............boo hoo!

Well wrestling season ended for us on Friday, February 19th. It was definitely a heartbreaker way to end the season. Isaac was one win away from automatically placing at state. He ended finishing 8th in state which is very good, but just not what we wanted. We are both definitely learning about heartbreak and praising God no matter what.

It was a great year and Isaac has grown a lot, both physically and mentally. I think I actually lose weight during wrestling season. How could I possibly eat when my son is training, practicing, warming up, or on the wrestling mat? It's hard enough to get through a day of work when Isaac gets ready to wrestle. I get so into it I've actually had people ask me if I wrestle. Of course, there's my brother-in-law Bruce who teases me about mud wrestling.

The season may be over, but we are already making plans for next year. Now that Isaac doesn't have to watch everything he eats he has packed on 20lbs! Next year we are already planning for Isaac to wrestle up 2 weight classes which will put him at 160lbs. We have some serious bulking up for him to do. He weighs over 160lbs now, but that is because he is eating whatever he comes across. He's already signed up for several camps and we will start his training next month. Not to mention we have to start studying again for the SAT's that he will take in May or June.

Thanks to everyone who was involved in Isaac's season. It made it that much better. Only 8 months until the first whistle blows for next season!

  2. We too are super dooper proud. I seriously cant tell you how many times Billy wished he could have hopped on a plane to be there and watch him. He did great this year. If my little guys ever wrestle I might end up on medication. I would be so stressed out.

  3. With Isaac having such a supporting Mom and Dad and a family who loves him dearly, he will always be number one in our book! Blessings on you Mija and Mijo!
