School Photo

So here is Elyssa's school photo. I didn't originally purchase any because they are so expensive and don't come out that great. Well she took her picture for the yearbook and her school id but it came out really bad. It was super funny, the picture didn't look like her at all! Well then she insisted that I had to buy pictures so she could do retakes. She didn't want the original photo in the yearbook. I bought the smallest package they had and here is the result. This photo is night and day from the first photo.

Elyssa is doing good and is happy that there is only a day and a half left of school before Christmas break. She is bummed that we didn't decorate this year since we're moving. I just couldn't bring myself to decorate and then turn right back around and pack it up with the rest of the stuff. I promised Elyssa next year that we would really do up Christmas and she was happy with that. She said that Christmas really isn't about presents at all, without the decorations and tree its just not the same.

On a different note Elyssa is going to sign up for rec basketball this year! I'm so excited! I have been trying to get her to sign up for 2 years, but she won't because she is not the best player. I keep telling her that she will never be the best player unless she plays. She is such a perfectionist - this time to a fault. She is naturally talented in basketball because Mark and I have no skills. She must get this from her Papa's Indiana blood. They are playing basketball in PE and everyone keeps asking her why she isn't on the basketball team. Of course this made her feel really good and she came home excited. I told her that I was signing her up whether she liked it or not because I know inside she's dying to play. This will be great!
