First Day of School

Summer is over for us. Today the kids got on the bus for thier first day of school. Elyssa is going into the seventh grade and Isaac is now a junior. I can't even believe it. In about a month Elyssa will be 12 and Isaac will be 16! Where does the time go?

This summer went by so fast. I feel like I'm back in school today too. Tonight I will be flooded with paperwork to fill out and forms to sign. The kids will tell me all about what they love and what they can't stand. Soon we'll get our first homework assignments and projects to do. I say we because it's like I have to do them as well. The bright side is at least I will no longer have to hear, "What are we doing today?" and "I'm bored."

Before you know it we'll be having break for Christmas and Easter and soon it will be summer again. It's totally the sign that you're getting older when it goes by so fast. I can remember people saying Christmas is only 4 months away and thinking it was a lifetime. Now I know what they mean. Soon Isaac will be graduating from high school and leaving home. What a depressing thought!

For now I will live in the moment and just wait for them to text me about their first day of school. I love being a mom!
