I picked up Elyssa from church camp on Friday. She had a great time and didn't want to come home. She went canoeing and paddle boating. They had block parties and church services. I am still hearing stories about how much fun camp was. She's already trying to make plans for next year. I told her she could go, but the dates haven't been sent yet.
I really have to thank God for church camp. Not only did she have a great time, learned about Jesus, made new friends, but it was only $99 for the week. The price included food, t-shirt, and a $5 canteen card!
On Saturday I woke up at 3am and drove to Virginia to pick up Isaac from camp. It was an okay drive up and then we turned right back around and drove 6 hours home. The drive home was great because we talked the whole way. He told me all kinds of stories about camp, wrestling, and I know everyone's life story now. He and some other wrestlers crashed the 4H dance that was there. I knew Isaac would meet a girl there. He meets girls everywhere. Even on the flight home he met a girl on the plane. It is comforting to know that he is taking my advice and asking for some form of ID to verify they are the age they claim to be.
Things are almost back to normal. Mark comes home on Saturday and then we'll be complete again for a little while.
I am so thankful for my kids. I can't believe in 3 months they are going to be 12 and 16! It is so great that we still talk about everything together. Last night Isaac came up to me and just started hugging me. I was barefoot so it was like hugging a man because he is just that much bigger than I am. Me and Elyssa were getting ready for bed and she told how much closer we've become this last year. It all happened within 5 minutes and I really had trouble holding back the tears. No matter what may be going wrong in my life this makes its all better!
