I can't believe Isaac just had his first date! It seems weird. Anyway, to him it was a long time coming. I have been training him on manners in dating for some time. Isaac has been wanting to date for what seems like forever. However, one of the rules is that he has to earn his own money - from outside the family. It has been hard for him to find a job in GA because although the legal working age is 15, all the places where we live require you to be 16. Well he was able to do some small tile work not to long ago and put money towards wrestling, pay his tithes, and still save some so he could go on a date.
He planned everything out and was very excited. He even shaved for the event. Well I was not impressed with the manners of his date. In fact, I told him if he was a girl I would be taking him home with me. The plan was to meet at the mall food court 45 minutes before the movie to eat and then walk to the theater. He went and purchased the tickets first for him and the girl and then we waited for her and another couple to show up. They showed up 5 minutes after the movie started and had already stopped to get something to eat! I never heard a single apology or even an excuse. Isaac didn't even get a chance to eat. Fortunately, he was not as upset as I was. I told him because he was a gentlemen he had to stay, but I wouldn't be taking him out anytime soon to meet this girl again.
On the flip side, I think this works out to my advantage. I don't think he's in a big hurry to go out on another date.
