Elyssa doesn't hold back.

If you ever really want an honest opinion ask Elyssa. There is no sugar coating or taking feelings into consideration. I think she gets this from Mark. In a way it's good because when they give compliments you know they mean it, but otherwise no sensitive people can hang out with them. (I'm working with her on this. It's called thinking before you speak!)

We were doing some shopping from my favorite store Plato's Closet on Saturday for Elyssa. I found 4 things I liked I thought I would try them on. If I liked them then Happy Mother's Day to me. I always have to have one of the kids with me when I shop because they are very particular about what I can and cannot wear. Isaac doesn't want people to comment on me and Elyssa doesn't want people to think I'm her sister. I respect this because kids can be cruel or dumb depending on how you look at it. I mean I clearly am not their sister. Between the wrinkles and gray hair if a child thinks I'm their sister that just makes them dumb in my opinion.

Anyways, I tried on a top and I asked Elyssa her opinion. This is what she said, "You're not getting any younger". What does that mean?! I know I'm not. I don't need her to tell me that. Later when we were talking about it she asked what the big deal was. I told her she could have simply said she didn't like it. She became totally hysterical with laughter and when I asked her why she was laughing she said it was funny to her that she didn't even think of saying something so simple. I told her this confirms that she is not normal.

  1. This reminds me of the other day when Peyton was laying down next to me. He kept hitting my stomach (not hard) and just watching. Then says to me "mommy, why does your stomach jiggle so much when I hit it and when I hit mine it doesnt move at all?" Nice right?

    Umm...maybe because I've HAD 3 BABIES!
